  This design for a highly decorated ornamental vase is taken from Charles James Mason's pattern book and was introduced between 1834 and 1840.     These designs are taken from the 'Book of Engravings' for Wedgwood Earthenware tableware dating  from about 1914. John E Goodwin, Art Director of the Wedgwood Etruria Factory from 1904 to 1934, designed 'Tonquin'.

  Pattern number 1053. Outlined in black and decorated in blue showing a Mason subject of two Oriental figures and cranes. This design appears in a Charles James Mason dinner ware pattern book dating from 1832-1834.     In 1813 C J Mason took out a patent to manufacture 'Ironstone China'. These four patterns were some of the designs especially created for this new material. Top left and bottom right are taken from Francis Morley's pattern book dated around 1853-1858.

  In 1813, C J Mason took out a patent for the manufacture of 'Ironstone China'. Many exciting and vibrant designs were created for this new material...     Dated between 1834 and 1840, this jug with serpent handle was taken from the pattern book of Charles James Mason.

Designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones in 1914.     Bone china cream jug decorated with 'Persian Ponies'. The pattern was designed by Victor Skellern in 1934.
